Social posts
Share your photos on Bluesky, Instagram and your Facebook Page without leaving FrameRoost. Connect your accounts once, then pick photos, add a line of text and post to all of them at the same time.
Connect your accounts
Section titled “Connect your accounts”Open Settings in your admin and go to the Social accounts tab.
Bluesky
Section titled “Bluesky”- In Bluesky, open Settings > Privacy and security > App passwords and add one called “FrameRoost”.
- Back in FrameRoost, enter your handle (for example
yourname.bsky.social, or your own domain if you use one) and paste the app password. - Click Connect Bluesky.
Use an app password, not your main Bluesky password: it lets FrameRoost post for you without knowing your real password, and if you’ve turned on two-step sign-in, your main password won’t work here anyway. You can revoke an app password in Bluesky at any time, which disconnects FrameRoost.
FrameRoost posts to an Instagram professional account (Business or Creator). Instagram doesn’t let any app post to personal accounts, but switching is free and takes a minute: in Instagram, open Settings > Account type and tools > Switch to professional account. You don’t need a Facebook Page.
- Click Connect Instagram and sign in to Instagram if asked.
- Allow FrameRoost to access your profile and publish content, and continue.
You come back to Settings with your account connected.
FrameRoost posts to a Facebook Page you manage. Facebook doesn’t let any app post to personal profiles, so if you don’t have a Page for your photography yet, create one first (in Facebook: Menu > Pages > Create new Page).
- Click Connect Facebook and sign in to Facebook if asked.
- Choose current Pages only and tick the Page this site should post to.
- Leave the permission to create posts turned on, and continue.
You come back to Settings with the Page connected. If you allowed more than one Page, choose which one this site posts to.
To post to a different Page later, click Switch Page. Facebook remembers which Pages you allowed the first time, so a Page you created since won’t appear until you add it: in Facebook, open Settings & privacy > Settings > Business integrations, click View and edit next to FrameRoost, and tick the new Page.
Write a post
Section titled “Write a post”Open Social posts in your admin and click New post.
- Post to — tick the accounts this post goes to. All your connected accounts start ticked.
- Text — optional. #hashtags are clickable everywhere, and links everywhere except Instagram, which doesn’t make links in posts clickable.
- Photos — your featured photos are shown first, newest first; switch to All photos for the rest of your library. Click photos in the order you want them in the post. The strip above the grid shows your picks in order; click one there to take it out.
- Click Post now — there’s one at the top of the page, one above the photo grid and one at the bottom.
What goes out:
- Your display copies, with your watermark. Your originals are never posted.
- Each photo’s caption as its description for people using screen readers.
- On Instagram, whole photos. Instagram shows every photo in a post at the same shape, and nothing taller than 4:5 or wider than 1.91:1. Rather than crop, FrameRoost fits each photo whole into that shape with white edges — a tall portrait gets white at the sides.
The limits depend on where you’re posting:
| Bluesky | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Photos per post | up to 4 | up to 10 | up to 10 |
| Text | 300 characters | 2,200 characters, 30 hashtags | 5,000 characters |
Posting to several means the tightest limits apply. The counter under the text and the photo count show where you stand, and Post now stays greyed out until the post fits.
After you post
Section titled “After you post”FrameRoost shows how the post went on each network, with a view post link for each one that worked. If one network fails (say, Facebook was down for a moment), the others still post; click Retry to send it to the one that didn’t.
The Social posts page lists everything you’ve posted from FrameRoost, newest first, with the same links and a Retry button for anything that didn’t go through. Remove from history only removes it from this list — the post stays up on each network, so delete it there if you want it gone.
Disconnecting
Section titled “Disconnecting”Click Disconnect on an account in Settings > Social accounts. FrameRoost forgets the connection straight away; posts you’ve already made stay up. For Facebook you can also remove FrameRoost under Business integrations in your Facebook settings, for Instagram remove it under Settings > Website permissions > Apps and websites, and for Bluesky revoke its app password.
Your social links on your site
Section titled “Your social links on your site”Separately from posting, you can show links to your social profiles on your site: add them under Settings > Site details > Contact & social, and their logos appear in your site’s footer and on your Contact page. See Settings & team.
